Now in its 12th year, the Mount Yotei Junior Jazz School is a jazz band with both elementary and junior high school students from the Niseko neighbourhood at the foot of Mt. Yotei. They enrich the community by actively participating in events in the Sapporo, Otaru, and Niseko areas. Every year they hold joint training camps and “Tomodachi Concerts” with junior jazz bands from Sapporo, Sunagawa, Makubetsu, and Hiroo. They are planning to hold a joint training camp and mini concert in Kutchan Town in September 2025. The school actively interacts with children from all over Hokkaido. Through musical activities, they aim to foster a love of music by bringing children, parents, staff, and the local community together to share the joy of music across generations.
