Now in its 11th year, the Mount Yotei Junior Jazz School is a jazz band with both elementary and junior high school students from the Niseko neighbourhood at the foot of Mt. Yotei. They enrich the community by actively participating in events in the Sapporo, Otaru, and Niseko areas. The school holds annual joint training camps and “Tomodachi Concerts” with junior jazz bands in Sapporo, Sunagawa, Makubetsu, and Hiroo, and in September they will hold a joint training camp and mini concert in Kutchan Town. The school actively interacts with children from all over the province. Through musical activities, they aim to interact with people of all ages to ignite a love of music through fun activities with children, parents, staff, and the local community.
